Lollapalooza 1991 was the turning point when “underground” music crossed into the mainstream and was called “alternative”. The labels and fanzines didn’t know how to communicate yet, so I smuggled in a 28-300mm lens in the crotch of my pants and my girlfriend smuggled the camera body in her purse.
