History of Rock and Roll
Steve Lucas and Ian Rilen, X, Bondi Lifesaver, Sydney 1978

X were a seminal Sydney punk band formed in 1978. The bass player, Ian Rilen, had been in the original lineup of Rose Tattoo and was sacked (he wrote their major hit - Bad Boy For Love). Rilen (1947-2006) used piano strings on his bass and was known for a high-pumping energetic style. He played in 14 Australian bands altogether.
