Al Kooper

Al Kooper is best known for playing organ on Bob Dylan’s “Like A Rolling Stone”, a feat made even more remarkable considering he bluffed his way into the recording session and had only a limited knowledge of the instrument. In addition to his work with Dylan, Kooper has recorded with such legendary artists as the Rolling Stones, B.B. King, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the Who, Cream, Shuggie Otis, and the late Mike Bloomfield. This photo was taken at the sound check for a Tribute to Mike Bloomfield, a performance Kooper did with guitarist Jimmy Vivino at the Highline Ballroom in New York City circa 2012.
